Jenny and Dave Krupski are simply put, a JPod Films couple! They are definitely the first couple I can honestly say that found us through Yelp. Jenny had binge-watched a bunch of our films, so she reached out and we set-up a Skype meeting. Our meeting was an instant match, as Jenny and Dave were one of our first 2016 couples to book a Boston Wedding Film.

It all started in the location where Jenny vacationed for most of her life, the town of Osterville on Cape Cod. The bride prep took place in Jenny’s parents Cape Cod home, which they had bought a few years earlier in the same neighborhood that the family vacationed for years and years. Dave got ready in a house two blocks away with their dog Skylar, which set up a great first look right down the street at a local scenic bridge. The sweetness and excitement of these two seeing each other for the first time was definitely one of the highlights of the day.

The weather was picture perfect from the bride prep through sunset at the Oysters Harbors Club, which is where the ceremony and reception took place. The outdoor ceremony, overlooking the water, was highlighted by a well thought out ceremony including advice from Jenny and Dave’s parents, a perfectly read version of “How Falling in Love is Like Owning a Dog”, and personally written vows. David’s vows were excellent, but how well he delivered them, made them arguably the best we’ve seen in ten years of filming weddings. They were so good, that we used them as the backbone for the couple’s wedding trailer film late last year. The great energy continued through the day with lots of great details including the Ducky Rose cocktail, a map of Cape Cod Picture Sign-in and the Panda Head appearance which turned the dance floor upside down. Enjoy our latest Boston Wedding Film with love and excitement that is hard to match.

We met Breanna and Matt through their photographer, Matt Hinkley of Hinkley Photography. We first knew the were a great JPod Films couple when Breanna told us that she was going to school to become a veterinarian, and that they had two dogs who were going to be included in the wedding plans. Although the two resided in the midwest, our Skype conversations felt so warm, as if we had known each other for years. It was also the first of four straight Boston wedding films that we had on the water in September (four different states too).

It was the second straight year that we spent the second weekend in September at Church Landing in Meredith, New Hampshire. Breanna and Matt got ready on opposite ends of Church Landing and then met for the first time on the back lawn of the property. It was one of my favorite parts of the day, as Matthew’s mid-western charm really came through. After some fun pictures with their dogs Ruby and Khan, we headed to a beautiful open field next to Moulten Farm for a pre-wedding photo session. We really got creative here and even opened the film with this part of the day. The couple had a traditional church ceremony at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Laconia before returning to Church Landing for the cocktail hour and reception. Some of the cool details include the Hoosier glass, tying in Indiana, used for the centerpieces as well as the Birch logs used throughout the reception decor.

We got to work with Matt and Liz Hinkley from Hinkley Photo (photo credit for picture above) for the second straight year in Meredith which was a blast, and we were also paired with one of our favorite bands in Honey Train. The day just had just a great vibe! Enjoy our latest Boston wedding film from the edge of Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.

Our latest Boston wedding film came to us as a referral from the Renfros (Tiffany + Matt, Margarita + Steve, Zach + Chris). That connection helped us build a great relationship with Erica and Matt, as we got to meet them and Matt’s parents before the wedding day at Margarita and Steve’s wedding. It was at that wedding that we knew that Erica would be a fixture on the dance floor at her own wedding.

This Boston couple chose to get married close to where Erica grew up at the newly renovated Newport Beach House, which just reopened in 2016 under the management of Longwood Events. With a small wedding party, we started the day with an intimate getting ready session for the bride and groom at the Hotel Viking in the heart of Newport, Rhode Island. Erica waited until getting to the Newport Beach House before putting on her beautiful lace wedding dress in the bridal suite. Every wants a sunny day on their wedding day, but Erica and Matt got an overcast misty look over their water view. It sounds like a bad thing, but in reality, it was a magical look for the camera in what was easily one of the best photo sessions we have had in the past few years.  It doesn’t hurt to have to talented and funny Joe Laurin of Joseph Laurin Photography cracking jokes next to you, which put Erica and Matt in such a naturally relaxed and happy state. Just jump ahead t0 4:58 to take a peak. The ceremony and reception took place on the top floor of the Newport Beach House overlooking Easton Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

We worked with some awesome vendors in addition to Joseph Laurin, as Julie Keilbasa and Alison Barbara, hair and make-up respectively, were a fun addition to the bridal preparations at the Hotel Viking. We felt at home on the Rhode Island coast, as multiple Boston wedding professionals were with us as well including the interactive band Soul of Boston and Les Fleurs of Andover. Enjoy our latest Boston wedding film from beautiful Newport, Rhode Island.

This week we have a wedding tip that simplifies the day! There are so many important details to plan for and to be excited about when planning a wedding. Things like choosing your dress, picking the right bouquets and centerpieces, finding the ideal linens for your reception space, and selecting the perfect ceremony music. But for their advice, Felice Pomeranz of the Gilded Harps and Lauryn Thibodeau of Lauryn Alyssa Photography are not focused on the music or photography. The two of them have isolated one simple thing that every couple should do on their wedding day. I was lucky enough to do this for 10 minutes at my wedding, but will you? You absolutely should! Find out what it is in this week’s wedding tip from the Boston Wedding Group and JPod Films. To see more wedding tips like this: visit: jpodfilms.com/category/wedding-tips/

Felice Pomeranz is the founder of the Gilded Harps and a Professor of Strings at the Berklee College of Music. The Gilded Harps provides solo harp and harp with many other instruments – flute, violin, cello, and also their world-renowned jazz harp trio and quartet for weddings and other social events. She is a long-time member of the Boston Wedding Group and a well-respected professional in the Boston wedding community.

Lauryn Thibodeau began Lauryn Alisa Photography in North Carolina before relocation closer to home with her husband in 2016. Based on her talent level and personality, she will quickly immerse into the Connecticut wedding scene and become one of the more sought out photographers in the area. One thing is sure about both of these women, they are passionate about their crafts and have their clients best interests always at heart.
