We met Katie’s Mom, Sue, through several local wedding professionals who date back to our earliest days of filming in the Western Massachusetts area. Katie and Pete Pasciucco were a Boston couple who was trekking back to Katie’s hometown in Northampton, Massachusetts to get married. We were blessed to have the opportunity to share in not only the wedding day, but in the rehearsal dinner as well for our latest Boston Wedding Film.

One of the biggest storylines of this wedding was the size of the wedding party. Fifteen bridesmaids and fifteen groomsmen joined 3 flower girls on this wedding weekend. Katie’s friends spanned from her sister as the maid-of-honor, to first cousins, to soccer friends who played by her side at Williston-Northampton, Boston College and Amherst College. The bond of friendship and family was very evident for both Katie and Pete. To add to the importance of family, Katie and Pete were married at Blessed Sacrament Church in Northampton, the same church Katie’s parents were married in 33 years earlier.

The reception took place at the scenic Log Cabin in Holyoke, which rests on the side of The Mt. Tom and overlooks the Western Mass. valley. We were blessed to work with Chris Degray of And the Beat Goes On DJ. Chris works with owner Dan Cavanaugh, who are both insanely talented at what they do and my favorite names to see on the wedding information sheet each wedding season. Crystal Vazquez & Co’s team did an amazing job getting 20+ girls ready for the wedding, on time, and looking gorgeous I might add. Our old television friend Kathy Bunnell of Bunnell Photography worked alongside us throughout the day seamlessly, and the flowers were designed by the same person who created my wedding day flowers in Heather Sullivan from Durocher Florist. This Boston wedding film takes you on a fantastic ride of sentimental moments and tremendous laughter, joy and positive energy. Enjoy the show…

To say this couple has personality would be the understatement of the year. Tara and Matt are two people who just know how to make each other laugh and they bring out the best in each other and everyone around them. Matt was so good, he even made Tara laugh out loud before touching her heart in the same sentence. As for John Fleming, Tara’s Dad, he has hit the jackpot with three beautiful daughters and now three great son-in-laws. The bittersweet part of this wedding was that Tara is the last Fleming daughter to be married, which ends our run of Boston wedding videos with this family.

Tara got her wish for some winter snow as a coating of fresh powder fell in the overnight hours of her wedding day. Tara’s favorite holiday is Christmas, which is easy to see in this wedding film and the obvious theme of the day. This wedding trailer film is only the tip of the iceberg, as personalized vows, an emotional gift exchange, a fun photo session and an energetic reception, including a visit from Santa Claus himself, will make this an unbelievable feature film for the Smiths. Tara and Matt also get extra credit because they understood the importance of filming their wedding day and made it a priority during the planning process. They will have great memories to share for a lifetime. Will you? #Flithsbecomesmiths2013

We met Annoula and Mike through a vendor referral and we hit it off right away. Although she grew up in Massachusetts, Annoula was planning the wedding from her current home in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. We met whenever she was home and by the time our final meeting came along, we had built a great client-vendor relationship.

Annoula stayed close to her roots getting married at the Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in the North End of Springfield. The wedding resembled one held in Boston with the bride’s style, a downtown photo shoot and large reception venue. Annoula and Mike hired a band for some traditional Greek dancing during the reception which added great energy to the reception. Another plus to the day was that we got to work with great vendors including Dave and Eileen from Breveglerei Photography, Dan Cavanaugh from And the Beat Goes On DJ, and Samantha from the Springfield Sheraton. Music from the trailer was licensed through The Music Bed.

Other vendors:
Flowers: Flower Stop
Cake: Sweet B Cakery

When it comes to great personalities, Lindsey Grgurich (Cassanelli) is right at the top of the list. Lindsey’s wedding day with Austin was a beautiful, warm summer day that has personality, genuine love and lots of fun. Lindsey and Austin chose to do their photos before the ceremony, which provided us with a great first look and ample time for a great photo session. Lindsey chose a beautiful one strap dress from Bridal Heirlooms in South Hadley, MA, while Austin was very stylish with a lighter grey tuxedo that better fit the season and the outdoor ceremony. Lindsey’s make-up was done by Naomi’s Salon and it looked perfect as well.

We got to work with a very cool and talented photographer in Eric Foley, while Dan Cavanaugh from And the Beat Goes On DJ kept the dance floor rockin’ all night. The ceremony and reception took place at the Riverview in Simsbury with much of the photo session taking place on the Old Drake Bridge in Simsbury, Connecticut. The bridge is an awesome drop back for photos if you are in that area for a wedding. Click here to see a direct link to some of Lindsey & Austin’s wedding photos. As the fall weddings wind down and the winter (yep, I said it) editing season gets under way, we should have a barrage of clips being released over the coming months. The stretch of clips will start with a couple of wedding movie trailers being released this week and next week.

Jess and Seth’s were the early birds who booked my most coveted Sunday date in JPod history. They were one of five couples who were hoping to book the date. Jess was actually the first bride to book a date for 2011 and that should give you an idea that this bride was organized. I like that! Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins were married in downtown Pittsfield at First Baptist Church with a reception at the neighboring Crown Plaza. We had a beautiful photo shoot in the Pittsfield State Forest. The first look gave a sunny view of the valley and then we moved to a great, shadier location near one of the highest natural bodies of water in Massachusetts – Berry Pond.

Great vendors were all around us as Melissa Coe of Melissa Coe Photography came back to her home side of the state and DJ Dan Cavanaugh of And the Beat Goes On DJ rocked it out as always. Janet Brennan was awesome at the Crown Plaza while Cakes by Dai created a beautiful cake which gets a close-up cameo in the trailer. The dress came from Special Day at Deidre’s which Jessica raved about on her wedding day.

I decided to go mainstream with the music as a change of pace from some of our previous wedding movie trailers. This is a song I have been looking to use for a while and it fit perfectly for Jess and Seth as the anticipation of the day, two years in the making, was the focus of this trailer. More cinematic music will is on tap for next week, so check back in and enjoy the show….

With the new blog, I knew I would have to bring back some of the best vendors of the month to receive the honor for a second time. There is no better vendor to start the two-time honorees with than And the Beat Goes On DJ out of West Springfield, Massachusetts.

If there is one vendor that I would say is the ‘must have’ vendor in this area, it’s Dan Cavanaugh from And the Beat Goes On DJ. Dan is pound for pound, across all areas of the wedding industry in Western Mass. and Connecticut, the most complete vendor available. Dan has the experience (over 1500 weddings), he has the passion (his energy is contagious), he has the professionalism that I truly connect with, and he has the ability to keep every party rolling all night long.

I get paired with Dan on several occasions every year and I thoroughly enjoy working by his side. First of all, he makes all of my films so energetic during the dance segments. Secondly, Dan is always so well prepared, as he will meet with couples up to three times before their wedding date. Brides and grooms always come into their wedding day with the utmost confidence in their DJ for good reason.

Once the reception begins, Dan is phenomenal as the Master of Ceremonies. The energy level he creates as the newly married couple enters for their reception is just awesome. As the night continues on, Dan has the ability to read a crowd and play the right music to keep the dance floor packed all night long. There are only a hand full of DJs that truly have this ability and Dan is one of them. Reception Coordinator. Master of Ceremonies. Top notch Disk Jockey. Dan Cavanaugh does it all at every wedding reception.
