As much as we love our Boston wedding films, one of my other favorite places to film a wedding is in the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts. When traveling out west, we always seem to cross paths with the greatest couples from New York City. Katie and Dave were no exception. Their sophisticated wedding took place at the Wheatleigh, a 22-acre romantic hotel nestled in the wedding-rich town of Lenox. This wedding didn’t just capture our eyes, as it was also featured recently on the Style Me Pretty blog.

Katie and Dave’s love story started at work, as the two worked together in a small group within a bank in New York City. What was charming about their story was the fact they tried to hide their early dating ways only to find out later that everyone knew what was going on the whole time. After a romantic proposal in Paris, Katie and Dave ventured a couple hours outside the city to declare their vows at the majestic and Florentine-inspired Wheatleigh Grand Hotel in Lenox. As Katie described it, their guests were transported to an Italian villa, with less travel time and the comforts of home. This Berkshire wedding film carries a travel theme, but what stood out the most were the floral accents put together by wedding planner Leslie Price of In Any Event Planning, Production and Design and Sayles Livingston Flowers that cascaded from the ceremony backdrop to the elegant tented reception on the back lawn of the Wheatleigh.

We crossed paths with some new wedding professionals as photographer Heather Waraksa was a pleasure to work with and I must give her credit for selecting the balcony for the bride’s final stages of getting ready. The extra natural light took Katie in her Michelle Lhuiller dress from gorgeous to breathtaking just by taking few short steps onto that balcony. The Hal Prince Band kept everyone rocking on the dance floor all night long, which always makes our job so much easier. Nothing ends a wedding film better than a fire pit with smores and a sparkler exit. Enjoy our latest Boston wedding film from the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts.

When two wedding professionals from your industry that you truly respect come to you to film their wedding, you feel honored, but yet, a little bit more nervous than usual. When one of those professionals is a filmmaker as well, the pressure is even higher. But like the big game, once you start working, you just start doing what you do best. And, when you have an amazing couple like David and Amanda, life gets a little bit easier.

As wedding professionals who have seen their share of weddings, David and Amanda Long planned their wedding weekend with an abundance of sweet touches that really exemplified what their relationship is all about. We love the connections that our couples share on their wedding day, but I’d be hard pressed to find one of our couples who expressed it as well as these two on the wedding day itself. From the exchange of hand written notes, to the thoughtful shared gifts, to the incredible and personal vows, to the look on each of their faces, you felt love in the air all day long.

This Berkshire Wedding Film took place primarily at the Kemble Inn, which is a gilded-aged mansion with a very chic modern charm in Lenox, Massachusetts. The couple took advantage of a few other beautiful venues in the Berkshires, as they did their first look and pictures at the Wheatleigh Mansion, while a gentleman’s poker game took place at the nearby Gateways Inn. It was hard to look around and not see a wedding professional at this wedding between those working and the many guests of the couple. Just a few of the great professionals we shared the working limelight with included Seth Kaye of Seth Kaye Photography, Jim and Lisa Powers of CJC Event Lighting, Wedding Planner Leslie Wiseman of The Wedding Belle and Shawn Santanello of Viren Entertainment. I’ll stop there, because there are so many and they are listed below. The couple received a full feature film (20 minutes), but I’ll tease you with the final minute and 15 seconds, which really captures what this couple is all about. The Clip begins with Amanda’s Grandfather’s toast from the rehearsal dinner and it ends with David and Amanda’s vows. For some couples, it’s love at first sight. For Katie and Mike, love took a little time. But, once the timing was right, Katie and Mike became an amazing match. Their wedding trailer is the quick version of their love story that started in Pelham, New Hampshire, and continued into Boston, Massachusetts. We were bummed that Katie and Mike’s chocolate lab, Bella, wasn’t able to be a part of the day. But, no worries, we found a way to include her in their upcoming feature film.

This Boston couple chose to have a destination wedding in the Bershires of Massachusetts, as they chose the gorgeous and historic Cranwell Resort, Spa & Golf Club as their backdrop. A little rain tried to dampen their day, but great couples, like Katie and Mike, shine despite the rain. Tricia McCormack of Tricia McCormack Photography and I had a great time photographing these two around the showers. We found a great little porch area in the center of Lenox that served as the perfect place to do some of the couples photo session. Carolyn Valenti of Queen Anne’s Lace created an elegant and timeless floral display in Cranwell’s main ballroom for Katie and Mike, before they danced all night to the Boston party band, Bear Fight. We can’t wait to expand this Berkshire wedding film into a feature film in the coming months.

I still remember the first phone conversation I had with Deirdre, as her energy and infectious personality were clearly evident when talking about her and Tom’s upcoming wedding in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. They were planning their wedding at the Seven Hills Inn in Lenox, MA, which was going to be a new venue for us. We were also excited because this would be a military wedding. Tom is a marine and the tight bond of the groomsman was a key element in this wedding film.

Our Berkshire weddings always take on a different feel than a traditional Boston wedding video and this ceremony was no different, as it was held in the gorgeous backyard of the Seven Hills Inn. A long walk from the Inn down to a shaded ceremony space makes for a grand entrance for the bride and the rural feel of the venue was simply gorgeous. The couple included a military exit from the ceremony, which included the arch of swords and a sword tap on the behind of the newly married Mrs. Duff. Welcome to the Marine Corps family Deirdre. The feature film clip below includes the final four minutes of the prep that lead up to the ceremony including an emotional speech from the groom, and excited set of bridesmaids as the Deirdre’s dress was going on and a personality-filled first look to cap it off. I loved Tom for his thoughtfulness throughout the day and beyond as he was the planner of the honeymoon. Tom wowed Deirdre with the surprise honeymoon location of Italy, as Deirdre was able to visit the actual location where her extended family was located. The newly married couple actually had dinner with some of Deirdre’s relatives that she had never met before. Deirdre was ecstatic when she returned, as shared the details of the honeymoon with us.

We were also lucky to work with one of my favorite photographers in Eric Limon from Eric Limon Photography. His style matches ours to a tee, as he is so relaxed and fun throughout the day. Without further ado, enjoy our most recent Boston wedding video…

We were excited to announce that we were invited to take part in the Berkshire Wedding Collective. As a Boston Wedding videographer and cinematographer, we often find ourselves traveling to the western-most parts of Massachusetts to film weddings and events. The Berkshires is just an extremely charming area of the state with beautiful architecture, picturesque views and unique events that are exciting to film. The Cranwell Resort, Spa & Golf Club has always been a popular spot on our calendar, but we find ourselves at new, different venues, as well as private properties for fabulous events and weddings every year. You can see our Berkshire Wedding Collective profile page HERE.
