Amanda of Ready Set Film and I had an amazing time collaborating on this same day edit film for the September Boston Wedding Group (BWG) Meeting. The amount of time and efforts that all of the vendors (listed below) put in to making this meeting such a success is both inspiring and humbling.  The meeting was the BWG’s industry-wide meeting featuring keynote Speaker Stacie Francombe, of Inspired Smart Success, who gave a plethera of tips on how to get noticed and published by the media. Edna and her team from EFD Creative Event Planning & Design did a tremendous job creating an elegant multi-floor event. It was the second time we have worked with Edna in the past month and I have to say that I love her and Kacie’s attention to detail. Below is a quick two-minute Boston Same Day Edit Film of the event that was held at the beautifully renovated Marriot Courtyard Downtown on Tremont Street in Boston. The renovated ballroom is elegant and large enough to hold events of many sizes in the Theater District of Boston.

Jonathan and Mark chose to celebrate their marriage in Berkshires of Massachusetts, an area in which they vacation multiple times per year. This Miami couple did a fabulous job with their planner Samatha Talora and Floral Designer Carolyn Valenti in creating gorgeous ceremony  and reception spaces in the afternoon light at the Cranwell Resort, Spa and Golf Club in Lenox, MA.

Mark and John were accompanied by their two children, Hershel and Ava, as they were married under a elegantly decorated Chuppah on the resort’s Rose Terrace. The couple admitted to being a little monogram-happy, as everything from their shirts, to their suits, to the belt loops, to the napkins in the bathrooms carried the Kravitz monogram. One of the highlights of the wedding day was most definitely Jonathan and Mark’s first dance, which was a two-song choreographed performance that includes several dips and lots of pizazz.

For this Boston wedding film, we got to work with so many of the best vendors in the Berkshires, including the fore mentioned Carolyn Valeniti, as well as very-talented photgrapher Tricia McCormack. The Boston band Night Rhythm followed us down the Mass Pike for this wedding and they kept the party going all afternoon long. Despite the rain that fall just outside the Rose Terrace during the cermony, the day was a near perfect one for Jonathan and Mark! Congrats gentlemen!

It has been a fun process over the past 10 years continuing trying to grow and evolve our wedding videography business into something much bigger and better. Well, this week a long term goal of ours was reached, as we have opened a new office space in the heart of Boston. Our Boston wedding filmmaker name of JPod Productions can now be found at 137 Newbury Street! We have partnered with five other great wedding businesses from the city to provide a space for our couples to meet us throughout the wedding planning process. When selecting a space in Boston, Newbury Street was always on the top of our list, because we felt that it matched our brand and the wedding films we are trying to produce.  The girls in my office are excited that we are located in the same building as Hotel Chocolat. We will definitely share more pictures of the space in the coming weeks. We are so excited!

JPod Productions was honored as one of the top filmmaking companies in New England for the third straight at the annual New England Professional Videographer’s Association’s (NPVA) VISTA awards last night in Dedham, MA. Our short Film, Jennifer + Michael’s Love Story was given the Silver Award in the “other” category. This Boston wedding video captures the story of how Jennifer Singer and Michael Marcus’ paths crossed and the journey that brought them to their wedding day. We premiered their film at their wedding reception just a few months ago. The reaction from that night was rewarding and electric and very similar to the response we get when we show a same day edit film.

Boston Award Winning wedding video

We were also honored and very humbled as one of the other winners, Elena Coyne, thanked JPod Productions Owner Jamie Podworski for inspiring her with a presentation he did in January at the NPVA on creating wedding trailers. Elena said she used the knowledge and inspiration from that night to edit one of her weddings before the VISTA deadline, which was only three days away at that time. That moment definitely defined why we participate in NPVA group, as filmmakers share knowledge with other filmmakers. It not only makes our Boston wedding videos better, but it makes our industry so much stronger as a whole.

The VISTA awards are a New England-based competition run by the New England Professional Videographer’s Association (NPVA). The NPVA is an organization of not only Boston wedding videographers and corporate producers, but also companies across New England who meet once a month to learn from regional and national speakers who specialize in the film making industry. Awards in the VISTA competition are presented in four categories including “Full Wedding”, “Wedding Highlight”, “Corporate”, and “Other”. The “Other” category is designed for videos that do not fit into the other three categories of the competition.

On February 18th, we spent a snowy afternoon with the International Special Events Society’s (ISES) New England Chapter for their monthly meeting at Legal Harborside in the Seaport District of Boston. It was a seafood lovers dream of a meeting with shrimp cocktail, oysters, sushi, and clam chowder on the luncheon menu.

The featured speaker of the day was Roger Berkowitz, President & CEO of Legal Sea Foods. His presentation entitled “Building Your Brand” focused on how Legal Sea Foods has marketed creatively over the past decade to attract younger customers. Within that time, the company has had to adjust their strategies based on consumer reaction to their advertising campaigns, as well as to what was discovered through their market research. Mr. Berkowitz gave plenty of real life samples that kept the presentation informational and enjoyable.

The following highlight video is a quick glimpse into both the social and informational opportunities that ISES presents each month to its members. Sponsors of the meeting included Legal Harborside, Art of the Event, Inc., Black Thumb Studio, Brookline Ice Company, Entertainment Specialists, Gateway ProductionsJPod Productions, Peterson Party Center, and Winston Flowers.

We were excited to announce that we were invited to take part in the Berkshire Wedding Collective. As a Boston Wedding videographer and cinematographer, we often find ourselves traveling to the western-most parts of Massachusetts to film weddings and events. The Berkshires is just an extremely charming area of the state with beautiful architecture, picturesque views and unique events that are exciting to film. The Cranwell Resort, Spa & Golf Club has always been a popular spot on our calendar, but we find ourselves at new, different venues, as well as private properties for fabulous events and weddings every year. You can see our Berkshire Wedding Collective profile page HERE.

The Berkshire Wedding Collective was founded by Tara of Tara Consolati, marketing + pr. The Collective  is a carefully curated collection of only the finest wedding professionals serving the magnificent Berkshire hills in Western Massachusetts.  It is an exclusive, “by invitation only” group of businesses that Tara trusts and respects. Truly the best of the best!  As Tara puts it, “when it comes to planning your wedding in the Berkshires, second-best just isn’t good enough.” The Collective is the destination wedding resource in the Berkshires–operating as a “Berkshires wedding concierge.”

Tiffany and Matt Renfro simply found us through the internet as they liked the work we had online from their venue, the Boston Four Seasons Hotel. They are quiet and sweet couple, but they have surrounded themselves with a great group of friends and family which is evident in this highlight film. This Boston wedding video was held exclusively at the Four Seasons with the ceremony in the Governor’s Room and the reception in the main ballroom.

The highlight film is supported strongly by the heartfelt speech from Tiffany’s Dad, Ralph Silva. One of things listed on our Top Ten Things to Make Your Wedding Film Better is to have the Father of the Bride give a welcome toast, and this wedding film is a great example of why that is such a good idea. Ralph talks about being the protective father that never thought there might be a guy good enough for his little girl. Well, that was until Matt Renfro came along. The details, flowers, lighting, the beautiful Oakleaf-designed cake, right down to Tiffany’s Badgley Mischka shoes were so well put together as this wedding screamed stunning elegance.

Take a four-minute ride through our latest Boston wedding video as we worked alongside some of the best vendors in the city, including photographers Jill and Lauren from Person + Killian Photography. The Wilson Stevens band Eye 2 Eye could have been the best band we have ever worked with, as they packed the dance floor all night long and handled the often over-looked Emcee duties with energy and professionalism.

A few months back we posted the Boston wedding highlight film of Miriam and Dan Tevet. Today, we release a clip from their finished Feature Film. Although this couple was living in New York City when they were married, Miriam’s Beantown roots came through in this Iconic Boston-themed wedding. The weekend started with an emotional rehearsal dinner at Anthem Kitchen + Bar in Faneuil Hall in Quincy Market. The Royal Sonesta Boston, neighboring the Charles River, was the setting for most of the wedding day events.

In the following feature film clip, many of the iconic elements of Boston came out in the photo session, which was a fun filled 90 minutes of traveling on the Original Party Trolley. With the music pumping, everyone on the trolley, as well as many of people we passed on the streets, were dancing like nobody was watching. As we shot along the super talented Randall + Theresa from Garnick-Moore Photography, the photo session made stops at the Boston Seaport, Fenway Park and the famed Public Gardens for pictures. It was one of the most fun times we’ve had for a photo session, and it helped make this a quintessential Boston Wedding Video. Also in the first part of the film clip are many of the details from the day, including a T-stop place card table for the reception. All of the details from this elegant wedding were meticulously planned by the the awesome wedding planning duo of Paula Marrero and Courtney Graham of Marrero Events.

The second part of this Boston wedding video features Miriam and Dan’s first Dance, which was romantically lit by Paul and Fritz Bosch from Boston Event Lighting. The choreographed dance was flawlessly executed by the couple in what was the beginning a very fun evening including a photo booth, espresso station and dessert bar.

At JPod Productions, we’ve had the opportunity to team up with several of Massachusetts’ top vendors on a variety of projects recently. One of those projects had us filming some testimonials for Dani Fine Photography of Northampton. Dani’s studio is considered one of the top studios in the western part of the state (Western Mass.) and that has her photography teams shooting at many of the top venues in Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Northampton wedding Photographer Testimonial

We’ve had the opportunity to work with Dani and her staff on multiple projects now and they definitely provide their clients with top notch images. Whether it’s wedding photography, corporate head shots, or baby bump and family photography, Dani’s team has the ability to photograph it all. The Dani Fine Staff has also been a large proponent of boudoir photography, which has been one of the most popular gifts for brides to give their husband-to-be on the wedding day. I could write all day, but the better way to find out what Dani Fine Photography is all about is to watch their testimonial video…

As Boston wedding videographers, one of the major reasons we enjoy filming wedding is that we get to meet and become friends with so many great families along the way. We love to watch their families evolve and grow through multiple family weddings and then the babies and children that follow. For JPod Productions, family is a key element to what we do.

On July 4th, as we take a break from our hectic wedding schedule, I thought it would be the appropriate time to share our family. Recently, we hired Massachusetts and Cape Cod Photographer Sarah Gallagher Studios to photograph a moment in time in our family’s life. As much as I have taken and will continue to take hundreds of photographs of our family, it was time to put the camera down and turn to a professional for a day. The greatest thing about the experience was becoming the client once again.  It was a humbling experience to feel the joy and satisfaction of capturing a moment in my family’s life as we perused through the dozens of pictures we received. The investment was priceless. It definitely has reinforced why we take so much pride in creating great family and wedding films for our families. So, on this holiday, I share our family because this is what life is all about! And, I think there maybe even a budding Boston wedding videographer in the bunch.
