Boston Wedding Decor Video

For the second year in a row, JPod Films was happy to be the video sponsor for Eventiques, an event created by New England Wedding Planners Ruthie McDonald and Lauren Mace of Eutopia Events.  Ruthie and Lauren, with an acceptional team of helpers, put together the event which is subtitled, A Wedding and Event Flea Market. The event took place earlier this spring at the Eastworks Building in Easthampton, Massachusetts. Eventiques allows former brides the opportunity to sell their one-time use, wedding related items from wedding dresses to detail-related items like mason jars, lanterns, vases, wine cork placecard holders, linens and so much more. It’s like a live pinterest board in one locations, and everything is for sale. Wedding planners and brides who are planning their big day have the opportunity to find an amazing array of unique items for their event at prices that are much lower than purchasing them brand new. To see what this event is all about, take a 100-second look back at the event that is growing and growing every year!

Event Sponsors Included Cakes by Amanda, CJC Event Lighting, Cronin Hill Photography, Daisy Stone Studio, Durocher Florist, Forget Me Not Florist, Lattitude Restaurant, Michael’s Party Rentals, The Knot, Love, Inc. Magazine, Rum and Steel, Viren Entertainment, WellWed and Western Woods Coffee.

It’s been a few years since we spent our New Years Eve at a wedding and I can’t think of a much better couple to ring in the New Year with than Kath Keen and Joe Di Biasi. What a fun night we had at the Cranwell Resort, Spa & Golf Club in Lenox, MA. The couple brought a laid back approach to the day, which is always a plus in my book. For so many reasons that are stated in this Boston wedding video, these two are just good together! What is really nice is that this film is only the tip of the iceberg, as there are many more stories to share in their feature film that is yet to come.

The ceremony was the first we’ve shot in the newly, renovated Main Ballroom, which now provides a variety of layouts for couples to choose from for their ceremony. Christmas was still in the air for Kath and Joe’s ceremony as a Christmas tree and red decor donned the ceremony location. Then Kath add loads of purple to the decor mix, as she is “obsessed” with the color (her words, not mine). A less-than traditional reception saw the couple go right into a fast dance set with their Band Total Soul from New York City. Some of the other surprises included a horse and buggy ride on a cold winter’s night, three outfit and shoe changes for the bride, and a balloon drop at the strike of midnight. Enjoy our latest Boston wedding video from the Berkshires of Massachusetts…

It is week six of Bridal Bootcamp with Active Lifestyle Fitness owner Ashley Brodeur, and I’d like to thanks Ashley for her expertise and professionalism in the making of this series of videos. As Boston wedding videographers, we teamed with Ashley to provide weekly video fitness tips to help our New England brides and others get in the best shape possible for their wedding day.

In this final week, Ashley talks about the importance of getting more than one person involved in your workout goals. There are several different ways you can do this. Find out what they are in our final Bridal Bootcamp episode…

It seems that one of the consistent vendors in the wedding industry is the disc jockey. The premier DJs tend to remain as the premier DJs. So, when a new disc jockey moves into that premier group, it is rare. This month’s Vendor of the Month is one those DJs that has risen into the premier DJ category over the past few years.

Brian Nicks Productions has burst onto the scene in multiple ways, but Brian’s bread and butter is being a great disc jockey. Brian has the main elements of a great DJ, which is threefold. First, he really is a great communicator, as he invests into his couples learning all about them and their wedding day. He is also is a great communicator on the wedding day keeping vendors up to date on all the formalities of the reception, so they can capture it the best way possible. Secondly, he is very good emcee. Brian has the perfect voice for the microphone and he really knows how to get the crowd going during introductions. Finally, Brian can read a crowd. That means he knows the right music to play to keep different crowds dancing all the time. The right music choices and mixing of songs will tremendously affect the reception experience and Nicks just has that knack of reading the crowd.

In addition to his role as disc jockey, Brian and his Project Manager Sam Moniz are busy as bees working on the Brides Tell All events, which allow future brides to hear from three former brides about their experiences on their wedding day. Brian gets the nod for being one of those vendors who is passionate about the business and that’s why he is August’s Vendor of the Month.

I met Jess and Matt through wedding planner Samantha Talora, as she was instrumental in helping the California couple plan this destination wedding of sorts in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. Jess, who moved from Boston to California in 2010, was the sweetest of brides and it was evident that her and Matt were going to be a fun couple to be with on their very coveted 9/10/11 wedding date.

The day could not have been any more gorgeous with blues skies surrounding the Cranwell Resort, Spa & Golf Club. The highlight film touches on the importance of Jess’s Mom, who had passed away before her daughter got married. Matt really found the special touch to make his bride’s day extra special. Also, make sure not to blink during the sand ceremony for a comical moment between the two.

We got to work with some great professionals as we paired with Jane from Iris Photography for the during the 2011 wedding season. Mark from Hard at Play’s DJ Service did a great job of keeping the crowd on their dancing feet all night long, while Teresa Mango added the softer, more beautiful ceremony music via her harp. And, Ann Long Designs created the elegant floral pieces seen throughout the wedding.

This is the week of the Family Film. When creating these family videos, our goal is capture families in their element. Doing what they do on a regular basis. For the Smiths, they are a sports-minded family and it was important to capture their children Summer and Colin on the field and in the pool.

Within the Family Film, it is our goal to hear the children speak, play, and be the kids that they are. In the Smith Film, we spent some time inside their playroom where Colin loves to hang out, and outside in their pool where Summer likes to hibernate. We were also able to capture some softball and baseball action to help round out their film. And to clarify, the Smith’s are diehard Red Sox fans, but Colin had some good fun teasing his Dad in Family Film. Thanks to Songfreedom for giving us a variety of good music to put behind these films.

Our biggest passion at JPod Productions is creating feature films and I am very excited to release this extended clip from Jenny Chung and Pasquale Capaccio’s Wedding. Jenny and Patsy had a perfect May afternoon for a wedding, with a romantic catholic ceremony at Mount Carmel Church in Springfield and a blue sky photo session and reception at the Log Cabin.

The wedding day had some great personality, as the prep was shot in Jenny and Patsy’s brand new home. There was also a tea ceremony in between the catholic ceremony and reception which brought Jenny’s heritage into the wedding day, and the ‘pretty in pink’ room made the Log Cabin look fabulous. The following clip includes the second half of the bridal prep leading into the ceremony, followed by a transition section from the ceremony to the tea ceremony.

We worked along some excellent vendors with George and Barbara Schaler from Schaler Photography while DJ Rocco spun the tunes all night long. Mike Zaskey from Zasco Productions provided the uplighting for the room and Elm St. Flowers provided the rose filled bouquets. Jenny and the girls had their hair done at A & E Styles Salon in East Longmeadow, although that footage was in the first few minutes of the feature film.

It was in February that I met this month’s vendor of the month at Hilary and Jesse’s Valentine’s weekend wedding in the Berkshires at the Cranwell Resort, Spa & Golf Club in Lenox, MA. I was simply blown away by the sound, energy and professionalism of the band Beantown on that Saturday evening and they have earned my vendor of the month honor for April of 2011.

The band consists of 10 members including three dynamic front vocalists, a rhythm section of keyboards, bass, guitar, and drums plus an outstanding saxophonist, trumpeter and trombonist. An on-board sound engineer ensures terrific sound at all times with their state of the art sound system. They also can light the reception’s major events with great spot lights which gives your wedding a professional feel, not to mention that it makes the wedding film sparkle. Their music collection was dynamic and each and every song had a great sound. One of the highlights of the night for me was their rendition of the Devil went Down to Georgia which capped off their second set of music. I added the video clip below of that song.

The band demonstrated great master of ceremonies skills which is a must if you do not have a DJ. The band interacted with the crowd on several occasions which only infused energy into the room, as the dance floor was never bare on this February night. How the band interacts on their dinner break is always a good indication of character and Beantown’s members got a long really well (which is not always the case) and they were, honestly, anxious to get back on stage once they had finished their meal. Click on this link to learn more about the band and to see a live concert performance sample of their work.

For the new blog, I am going to continue my tradition of having a vendor of the month on the first of each month. On the new blog, I may select previous vendors who have been highlighted, but I am starting fresh in February of 2011.
