In our latest Boston Wedding Film, Alex and Tom are proof that long distance relationships work. With Alex living in Arizona, and Tom living in Massachusetts, the two had a chance meeting in Las Vegas at restaurant called Buca Di Beppo. After spending a full-day together, the couple reconnected two months later for their “first date” and the rest was history. With the distance between them, travel became an integral part of their relationship. Much of their young relationship was built around traveling in Massachusetts, Arizona and San Diego visiting places they had never been. Tom actually proposed to Alex on their two year anniversary at the scene of their first meeting, Buca Di Beppo.

Just over three years after their first date, Alex and Tom were married at St. Francis de Sales Parish in Charlestown, followed by a reception at the Omni Parker House Hotel in downtown Boston. We love how this soon to be Navy JAG wore his military whites for the ceremony, only to switch to the classic Tuxedo and bow tie for the reception. One of my best pieces of advice to couples is to always have the father of the bride give a toast at the wedding. In this wedding, we had both father’s deliver outstanding speeches. In fact, Tom’s father doubled as his Best Man and he delivered a funny and enthusiastic speech that starts and ends this film with great energy. We also loved the classic New England touch that Alex and Tom chose with their wedding cake, as it was a rendition of the same cake Jackie Kennedy had on her wedding day. Alex and Sean brought a worldwide flair to our latest Boston wedding film. The couple met in Boston, but they currently live in England. Add to that, Alex’s parents live in California, much of her family is across the pond in Scotland and Ireland, and their guest list included friends and family from as far away as Dubai and Australia. Scotland and Ireland were well represented in attendance and in attire, as the men chose to wear traditional Scottish kilts with bow ties and jackets.

The couple chose to keep all of the formalities in one location, as the preparations, ceremony and reception all took place at the Omni Parker House Hotel on School Street in Boston. We got to work with three of the most talented and extremely calm, cool and collective wedding professionals you will ever meet in Paula Marrero of Marrero Events, Zev Fisher of Zev Fisher Photography, and Michelle DeVoe of Demiche Beauté. The calmness surrounding the wedding is one that we always welcome.

Alex and Sean chose to incorporate a Same Day Edit Film into their evening, which allows those in attendance to see a highlight film from the wedding day just hours after it unfolds. Coming from a television news background, we love filming and editing these Same Day Edits, as it they bring us back to the deadline-based environment of the broadcasting world (just for a day though). The Same Day Edit features a cool first look with Alex’s Dad, a photo shoot including a pedi-cab, and groom with an awesome reaction during his entrance to the reception. Meghan and Teddy were recommended to JPod Films through some friends of theirs. We loved the story of how they met, as they didn’t have the typical amazing love-at-first-site scenario. The two met at the less-than-romantic bar named Bradley’s Cafe near Providence College. Their initial meeting didn’t have Teddy sweeping Meghan off her feet, but over time, these two became a great couple.

The couple wanted an upbeat vibe to their highlight film, and their wedding day had so many fun moments that we had no problem delivering energy to this recap of their wedding day. One of the funny themes to this wedding was the fact that Meghan was not excited about giving up her last name of Glynn and changing it to Kinneen. The Phrase “Mrs. Teddy Glynn” kept arising throughout the day. She was funny about it, but I definitely know how this story goes. My wife had to give up Maloni to become Podworski. 🙂 We loved the gift exchange, as Teddy built Adirondack Chairs for Meghan, while Meghan gave Teddy some new artwork incorporating their wedding date for their house. Both gifts had that personal touch that we love to see.

Meghan and Teddy were married at St. Cecilia Parish on Belvidere Street in Boston, with the bride preparations and reception taking place at the Omni Parker House Hotel. Much to our delight, we got to work with photographers Mariah and Trish from Snap! Weddings for the second time in as many years. The band Clockwork got the dance floor moving for the evening and we loved the flowers from Rose Hill Garden. Enjoy our latest Boston Wedding Film…
