We met Tori and Casey through their wedding planner Luba Gankin from Primavera Dreams and we hit it off right away. With both of our dogs hanging out in our first zoom call, the three of us (six if you are including the dogs) just had that feeling that this was a great match. Tori and Casey seemed to have an equal role in the wedding planning process and their communication with each other really struck me as such a positive attribute of their relationship.

Tori and Casey’s Boston Wedding Film primarily took place at the beautiful Winchester Country Club. The boys got ready at the Country Club, while the girls hung out at the Archer Hotel for their wedding day preparations with one of my favorite hairstylists in Maricruz Polito from Maricruz Hairstyles. The letter exchange between the couple was so heartfelt and the personality of this couple continues to shine right into the ceremony. Tori and Casey had two great readings, a rock ceremony representing the couple’s path, and personally written vows that were good enough to make you laugh and cry all in one. It was clear that so much thought and effort was put into the ceremony to really exemplify the personalities and connection between these two.

The highlight for us was the couple’s brief reunion with their two dogs after the wedding. The excitement of Nama and Mindy during their “first look” was priceless, followed by a quick photo session with the now family of four.  The reception continued in the beautifully decorated and uplit Winchester Country Club.  DesignLight did such a beautiful job transforming the room into an elegant space. We shared the evening with Jason Kan Photography and the Hub Band which also made the day a lot of fun.

David and Clint found us online as they looked to plan an intimate fall wedding in the Public Gardens in the heart of Boston. It’s not often that we help plan the event, but photographer Darlene Devita (credit to her for the picture above) and I guided the couple and their four guests in making appropriate decisions on the date and time. Together, we all chose to go for a golden light ceremony during the mid-week, as we knew that the park would be much more crowded on a weekend day. After a late September, Thursday wedding date had to be rescheduled, we ended up with a Tuesday evening ceremony in the middle of October on picture-perfect fall day.

The amazing part about this evening was that it didn’t feel like an intimate, six person wedding. One of the reasons for that was that an impromptu group of Bostonians slowly gathered throughout the ceremony to create a slightly larger audience. The bigger reason that the wedding didn’t feel quite so intimate was because David and Clint included so many people from their lives within their ceremony. Within their ceremony, there were readings and poems from over a dozen people that were not able to attend the wedding in person, but were important to the couple. Some were funny, some were sweet, but what really came out was the personality of each individual and why they were great as a couple.

What I love about this wedding is that great things come out of tough situations. It is obviously that COVID and the pandemic has made life tough on people in so many ways. But, this wedding felt like one of those silver linings. It made the best of a situation in the most personal and romantic way. I hope you enjoy this Boston wedding film as much as we enjoyed sharing in David and Clint’s intimate wedding day.

This wedding season has been a whirlwind for sure, but the silver lining in it all is that we have been filming the sweetest intimate weddings during this pandemic. Julie and Jeremy were one of those weddings as they chose to still get married in 2020 even though they postponed their larger event at the Boston Harbor Hotel to 2021. After looking around at a couple of potential venues, friends of Julie and Jeremy offered their Sudbury home as the backdrop for their micro wedding.

And, what a venue it was! The ceremony space was set-up with a beautiful walkway through a section of trees that led to a shaded space in the yard where a hydrangea-decorated Chuppah awaited the couple. The reception, which included the first dance, a father-daughter dance, and several speeches, took place in a perfectly-decorated, rustic barn on the property which was open on both sides with just enough room to social distance all of the guests. There were also so many cute spots and beautiful landscaping in and around the property for our photo session with Jill Person Photography.

So, people keep asking us, what does a micro-wedding look like? Julie and Jeremy did a great job following the guidelines throughout the wedding day. Masks were worn throughout the day, even throughout the outdoor ceremony with the exception of the processional and recessional for the couple themselves. The highlight of the day could have been Julie’s father’s mask which was designed to look like a tux with a little bow tie on top. You can see it HERE in an Instagram post that we shared recently. With an outdoor reception and proper spacing, the guests took off their masks for the reception. The couple had food catered by a local restaurant that gave each table of 2-3 people their own “box” of food. Enjoy our latest Boston wedding film…

There are so many reasons why filming your wedding day has grown in popularity in the past decade. I think the most important reason is to capture the most important people in your life with you, the couple, on one of the most important days of your life. Having a documented memory of those special people talking, moving, dancing, and interacting is a precious thing in itself. But, with COVD-19 drastically changing the landscape of the 2020 wedding year, including those people in the wedding day has become more difficult for couples. With many couples choosing to have smaller weddings in 2020 and postponing their big event until 2021, there is still a desire to include their original guest list on the original wedding day. One of the ways we have been doing that is with the Same Day Edit.

Although live-streaming an event is still an option, we are finding that many couples would rather capture their smaller wedding in the traditional manner and allowing us filmmakers to create a more creative final product immediately for them. Why is this an advantage?

First of all, the couples are still getting a final, creative product on the same day as the actual wedding. There is no waiting around for the complete edit, which can take weeks or months based on how backlogged the company has become during the year. That delivery time is based on the number of weddings filmed that year, as well as how late in the wedding season it is (traditionally, companies can not edit weddings as fast as they film them, so delivery times increase throughout the year). Secondly, a Same Day Edit allows a couple to have their wedding film edited. Therefore, instead of a raw version of their ceremony, snippets of the best parts can be intertwined to bring out the anticipation, emotions, and energy of the wedding day. Finally, that final version of the video culminates a complete wedding day into a shorter 3-4 minute wedding video. That provides a much more watchable length for all guests and non-guests who want to share in the wedding day.

Although these films have become an increasingly popular option in 2020 for smaller weddings, we are still seeing them being booked for our larger events in 2021 for many of the same reasons above. The one thing a larger wedding provides is the live movie experience, which provides energy during the reception that is unmatched! Below is a Same Day Edit that shows the couple and their guests experiencing the film for the first time. The reactions throughout the premiere of this Boston wedding film are priceless.

Paige and Eric were married on a beautiful August day last summer at the scenic Wianno Club along the ocean waters of Osterville, Massachusetts. It was a simple, classic Cape Cod wedding with a natural feel including a color palette filled with greens and whites. Paige got ready at the family’s nearby home and traveled over to the Wianno Club in a vintage car with her Dad. From there, the rest of the wedding day unfolded in and around the beautiful “shingle-styled” building along the Atlantic Ocean.

The beautiful grounds of the Wianno Club played backdrop to the couple’s first look and a photo session that included the couple venturing onto a gorgeous rock formation overlooking the ocean. After a pre-ceremony cocktail reception with sparkling champagne, the couple exchanged vows in front of the ocean as the sun came out to warm up the event. During the cocktail hour, Paige and her parents arranged a surprise for Eric as a plane flew by with a banner that read “Paige and Eric: Shipmates Forever”. The decor of the event included an array of hydrangeas that made the wedding day so elegant from beginning to end. The wonderful speeches revolved around the great character of these two as their paths crossed on the campus of Cornell University.

We were fortunate to work alongside Lisa Rigby of Lisa Rigby Photography. The wedding was planned by Elegant Engagements of Cape Cod. This was a blessing as the on-site vendor team of Megan, Erica, and Sara from Elegant Engagements were on top of every detail and made the whole day run so smoothly. Enjoy this quintessential Cape Cop wedding film…

As a wedding videographer, I can’t help but say I think a wedding film is essential. But not only because I do this as a professional, but because I know first-hand the importance of capturing all of your family and friends at that one special moment in time.

A friend of mine recently posted about how much her sons loved watching her 19-year old wedding video. It made me think about my wedding video from 18 years ago, and although I am divorced, this video still has amazing value for me. It holds moving imagery that captures emotion like no other medium, and it has had a lasting effect for myself, and my three daughters. It will always serve as a joyous snapshot in time of their family.

One of my fondest memories of my wedding day was the Mother and Son Dance. It was special because of my Mom. She was my rock. She was my biggest supporter, and she was my sole parent after my father passed when I was a teenager. She was what any child would want of a Mom.

My Mom and I shared the love of music. She was very happy to volunteer songs for the first dance. One of her favorite songs was I’ll Still Be Loving You from a lesser-known band called Restless Heart. But when listening to the song, I realized it was more suited for the Mother and Son Dance. Because it was not a popular song, my wedding DJ did not have this in his CD collection (yes, before digital music). Unbeknownst to my Mom, I borrowed her CD and gave it to the DJ shortly before the wedding. After I took it, my Mom noticed it was missing. I obviously denied that I had seen it, but she was convinced I lost it as I was the one person who was always in her CD collection. I had to deny it on more than one occasion, and she was frustrated. It would not have been an easy CD to replace.

Fast forward to the wedding day and our Mother and Son Dance. My Mom had no idea what song I had chosen for us. Once the song Restless Heart started playing, I looked at her and said, “And you can have your CD back after the wedding”. She burst out laughing and couldn’t stop giggling the entire song. It was one of those moments that I will never forget sharing with my Mom and it is captured in the video below. I know how happy she was that I chose that song for our dance.

The reason that moment was so important to me is that my Mom, who was completely healthy and full of life at my wedding was diagnosed with lung cancer the following year. She passed away just 15 months after the wedding. Now, this wedding video serves as one of, if not the best imagery of who my Mom was…her smile…her joy for life. My kids know her and remember her from this fantastic memory. And, on this Sunday and every Mother’s Day that follows, I will think of and treasure my wedding video and a special dance I had together with my Mom.

Laura and Adam ended our spring rush of weddings this year and it could not have been a better way to end the month of June. We met the new Mr. and Mrs. Ruchim through Tasha Bracken at Tasha Bracken Events, and it could not have been a better match. I love when a groom puts an equal amount of positive energy, input and personality into the wedding day. From the moment we met Laura and Adam right through the process of creating a pre-wedding video for their rehearsal dinner video, we just connected on all wave lengths. We knew this was going to be an awesome Boston wedding film.

It was a mix of the big cities, as Chicago and Boston came together for this wedding. Laura grew up in the Boston area, while Adam’s family is from the Chicago area. The two came together while they were both working in New York City. This meeting was an instant connection that carried right through to the wedding day. These two just have an electricity around them that shows you that they are meant to be together.

This classic and elegant wedding took place at the Four Seasons on Boylston Street in Boston. With the perfect touches from Suzanne B Lowell Lighting and Design, the ceremony took on the most romantic feel. During the ceremony, the couple’s vows were captivating and hilarious in the same breath. The reception had such a great energy from the first dance to the tremendous series of toasts to a dance party that never slowed down throughout the night.

The couple chose to have multiple videos to remember their wedding day. Below is the couple’s wedding trailer film, as well as their final Short Film which is the most popular choice out of all of our Boston wedding films. Get ready to laugh, cry and feel all the feels of Laura and Adam’s wedding day.

As wedding professionals, we find it very important to continuously stay educated. Part of that process is to network with professionals from across the wedding and event industry. It helps us stay up-to-date with current trends, and communicate with other vendors to try and make everyone’s job easier on an event day. Last month we had the opportunity to network at the monthly meeting for the New England Chapter of the National Association for Catering and Events (NACE) which was held at The Pierce House in Lincoln, Massachusetts.

In addition to participating at the networking portion of the meeting, JPod Films was asked to sponsor the meeting by creating a recap film of the event. It is the first of two films that we will be creating for the New England NACE group this year. It was a great event to film, as the evening was centered around a variety of team building activities. Yep, the competitive juices came out. Four teams battled it out in activities varying from trivia to straw building. What is that you ask? Watch the recap film and you will see.

It was great to partner with so many great wedding professionals who also sponsored this event. First, there was Kataram Studios as we shared the floor with these talented photographers to capture the event. Rob Peters Entertainment provided the team building entertainment. Our pallets were filled with delicious food from Cava Catering and Events, as well as an outstanding dessert table from Montilio’s Baking Company. Adding to this great event were planner Luba Mitnik-Gankin from Primavera Dreams Wedding Planning and Design, Floral Notes, XO The Girls Event Rentals, Sound City Entertainment and The Gilded Harps.

We loved seeing these two families come together as Alex, the Boston girl, was blending with Alex and his Dominican Republic background. The wedding came together as one that was chic with clean lines, while incorporating a little bit of a Caribbean feel through the location, flowers and music. The mix of cultures added to the couple’s great personalities really allowed this Boston wedding film to flourish.

With the wedding taking place on Nantucket, it definitely brought on the island feel that was familiar to much of Ellery’s family. The day was an overcast “grey lady” day on the island with an added strong breeze off the ocean waters arising during the ceremony. The film opens with local artist Sergio Roffo rendering a new painting of the Sankaty Head Light which added some sweet Nantucket character to this wedding film. After the girls finished getting ready at the family’s house on the island, the scene shifted over to the scenic Sankaty Beach Club. Ellery and the gentlemen finished getting ready at the club before the ceremony took place over looking the ocean waters.

The reception moved down the road to the Sankaty Head Golf Club which sits not too far from the Sankaty Head Light that opens this Nantucket wedding film. The reception was filled with so many smiling faces, amazing speeches, a birthday cake for both the Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom, and dancing…lots of dancing! The band Clique had the dance floored packed all night long with an array of music which even included some outstanding salsa dancing. The night ended with Alex’s brothers (with help) decorating a black Audi convertible and the couple exiting through their guests to ride away in that car on their first night as a married couple. I hope you enjoy our latest Feature Film.

We met Heather and Chris organically as they found our wedding films online and reached out to us. Once we met for our first consultation, I knew these two were an ideal JPod Films’ couple. They each had fun, easy going personalities and it was easy to tell that they saw the value in a quality wedding film. Once their parents saw our work, Heather said “booking us was a must”. So they did and I was really excited about sharing in their wedding day.

Heather and Chris started their day by getting ready at the Lenox Hotel and the vibe was so energetic and fun. The girls were telling great stories about when Heather and Chris first met, while the boys were yelling and screaming over last-minute World Cup goals. As the preparations continued, the couple each gave sentimental gifts to their parents and each other which really brought a great warmth to their Boston wedding film. The couple transitioned to the Boston Public Library for the rest of their wedding day which started with a great first look at the top of the library staircase. After a pre-ceremony photo session, the couple were married in the library’s courtyard and the ceremony featured heart-felt and extremely well-written vows. The night continued with lots of high fives, elegant decor and high energy dance party. We loved how the couple incorporated their favorite old-school music into the ceremony and reception, as Africa by Toto was used in the ceremony and You Make My Dreams Come True by Hall and Oates was used for their first dance song.

We were lucky to work alongside the uber-talented Kate McElwee and the band Beantown from Wilson Stevens. True professionals like that always make the day flow so seamlessly. Enjoy Heather and Chris’ Boston wedding film from the BPL!
